Sam van Schooten B.v.

How it began....

Sam van Schooten

In 2002 I moved to a new nursery on the Torenlaan in Voorhout. A beautiful new greenhouse and barn, which changed a lot. There was enough space for cold rooms, machinery and the first employees were hired.

Now, 21 years later, we are a team of 20 employees and have grown into a modern company specialized in growing and packing plants and flower bulbs for delivery to the specialist.

With our collection of more than 1500 different varieties of packaged and loose flower bulbs, plants and gift items, we now deliver our products to more than 15 countries.

When you grow up among flowers and plants, you quickly get infected by them, at least that was the case with me. My father had a flower nursery and as a little boy you quickly ran with it.

After high school horticulture, I started growing flowers and perennials myself and tried to sell these homegrown plants. One thing led to another and so I began to supply a small assortment to garden centers, stores and gardeners.

Starting in my father's barn, with my bedroom serving as an office, things got started. With few resources and a lot of manual work, my products were packed and delivered personally. Thanks to my parents and loyal customers, my business grew.
